John Hernandez claims Salvadorean Liga MB weekly honour

Experienced Colombian John Hernandez (207-C-1984) had a great game in the last round for Santiagueno BC and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga MB Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 41-year old center had a double-double of 37 points and 28 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Cojute (#4, 6-5) 88-119. Santiagueno maintains the 10th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Santiagueno have already lost 9 games and recorded just two victories. Hernandez turned to be Santiagueno's top player in his first season with the team. Hernandez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 22.4ppg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 56.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Eduardo Diaz of Club de Baloncesto Cojute. Diaz impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 36 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he led Cojute to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Santiagueno (#10, 2-9) 119-88. This victory allowed Cojute to move up to 4th position in the standings. His team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Diaz is a newcomer at Cojute and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Guatemalan Lee Vasquez (173-PG) of MC El Brasil Santa Ana (#7). Vasquez got into 30-points club by scoring 46 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Santa Ana, leading his team to a 85-73 win against Santa Tecla (5-6). The chances of Santa Ana ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Vasquez could help Santa Ana to bring them higher in the standings. Vasquez has a very solid season. In 4 games in El Salvador he scored 23.8ppg.

10. Nick Moore (198-PF-1991) of Santa Tecla - 15 points, 19 rebounds and 2 assists
